Thread Painting Palettes - Digital Embroidery Pattern & Resource
This collection of thread-painting palettes grew out of my own early struggles with choosing and blending colours. I always wished I had a little reference guide to point me in the right direction, so I made one. Inside are 20 curated palettes (each with six DMC shades) that you can stitch into a sampler or simply keep as a digital reference guide for future projects.

The amount of information in the guide is incredible! It's beautifully laid out and easy to follow. There's very clear instructions to guide you through each stitch. Did I mention this is one of the most beautiful butterfly pattern I've ever seen? Seller is always there if you have any questions. Definitely will be purchasing more patterns once I finish the stitch along and this one.
Product Description
When I first started thread painting, colour blending felt like trying to read a map without knowing the symbols. I loved the process, but I often found myself wishing for a simple reference - something to help me see how shades could flow into one another. This palette collection is the result of that wish.
It includes 20 curated colour palettes, each built from six DMC threads, arranged to show you how the colours sit together and how they might blend. You can stitch them into a tidy little sampler if you like following along step by step, or you can just use the palettes as a reference whenever you’re planning a new project.
It’s a practical, gentle resource for anyone learning the rhythm of colour blending, and a surprisingly lovely piece to stitch on its own. Whether you’re experimenting, building confidence, or just looking for inspiration, it’s meant to be a friendly companion on your thread-painting journey.

“Garden of Endings” is a one-of-a-kind, highly detailed embroidery inspired by the Death tarot card - not as a symbol of despair, but of transformation. A raven, scythe, empty hourglass, skull, and death’s-head moth rest among various poisonous blooms and fungi, each element echoing the theme of endings that make way for beginnings. Stitched over nearly 150 hours, this piece brings life and death into quiet conversation, creating something haunting, intricate, and unexpectedly hopeful.
“A Trio of Mushies” is a small, original woodland embroidery featuring three softly shaded mushrooms nestled together like they’ve grown in a quiet corner of the forest. Stitched by hand with delicate thread-painting and gentle colour blending, it’s a calm, cosy little piece full of texture and character.
“Aurora’s Wing” is an original hand-stitched embroidery capturing a dragon in flight against a glowing aurora sky. The dark silhouette sweeps over shadowed pines while ribbons of holographic colour shimmer behind it, giving the piece a quiet, mythic feel - like catching a glimpse of a story unfolding overhead.
“Time Flies” is a one-of-a-kind embroidered artwork featuring a gilded hourglass embraced by lilacs and forget-me-nots, with two butterflies resting lightly on its frame. Rich in detail and soft colour, this large oval piece explores the fleeting nature of time through delicate, living motifs. It is a treasured creation.
“Everwoven Heart” is an original Celtic-inspired embroidery featuring an interlaced knotwork design in soft rose and plum tones. With its looping, continuous pathways and gentle colour transitions, the piece has a calm, meditative feel - my little ode to connection, patience, and the quiet beauty of things woven together.
“Winter Pansy” is a small, original embroidery study of a single blue-and-white pansy, stitched on delicate organza for a soft, airy finish. It’s a simple, quiet piece - just a pretty flower with gentle shading and a cool, wintry palette.
