Flutterby No.3
A one-of-a-kind fantasy butterfly from my Flutterby series, hand-stitched on sheer bridal organza using a mix of thread painting and goldwork techniques. Shades of blue and violet shimmer through its wings, accented with sequins and silver purl wire for a touch of light and magic. The transparency of the fabric gives the piece a floating, ethereal quality - like catching a glimpse of something otherworldly in motion.

This pattern is amazing, and so is the stitch guide!! There is so much great information in both. I’m new-ish to embroidery and I love the step by step details.

I was so impressed with this pattern and the detailed instructions that accompanied it! The embroidery stitch guide is brilliant! It really helps a beginner embroider like myself to get started on my new hobby. There was obviously a lot of thought, skill , and care that went into preparing this pattern and guide. Thank you!
Product Description
This piece is the third in my ongoing “Flutterby” embroidery series - an exploration of fantasy butterflies and the quiet magic they might carry.
Each butterfly in the series is imagined as a creature from another world: familiar in form, yet touched by something dreamlike. This one is stitched by hand on a sheer piece of bridal organza, giving it the illusion of hovering within its frame. The wings are brought to life through delicate thread painting in shades of blue and violet, with subtle goldwork details that shimmer as the light shifts. Sequins and silver smooth purl wire add an extra layer of depth and texture.
The Flutterby series began as a way to merge my love of realism and fantasy, using embroidery to create creatures that feel both natural and impossible. Each butterfly is a one-of-a-kind original, designed to stand on its own as a small, intricate artwork.
This piece is perfect for anyone who loves the meeting point of nature and imagination - a detailed, hand-stitched fragment of a world where even the smallest things can feel a little enchanted.

Bloom & Blade II is an original embroidered hoop featuring a silver sword entwined with a dense wreath of green vines and small pink blossoms. More enclosed and abundant than the first piece in the series, it feels like a blade slowly being claimed by growth - softened, hidden, and held.
