Aurora’s Wing
“Aurora’s Wing” is an original hand-stitched embroidery capturing a dragon in flight against a glowing aurora sky. The dark silhouette sweeps over shadowed pines while ribbons of holographic colour shimmer behind it, giving the piece a quiet, mythic feel - like catching a glimpse of a story unfolding overhead.

Where to begin with telling you about this item?! Let me tell you, you would be disappointed if you didn't purchase it. Suzanna has created the most perfect set of instructions to help guide you from the very beginning. I combined this pattern with Suzanna's thread painting colour wheel and chose a colour pallete that blends beautifully. She has really taken all the hard work and put it into crating such fantastic patterns that are then easy to replicate.
Product Description
Aurora’s Wing is an original embroidery of my own design. A lone dragon flies over a shadowed forest while the sky behind it glows with aurora-like streaks of blues, greens, and purples. The contrast between the dark figure and the luminous sky gives the whole piece a sense of quiet movement, as if you’ve stumbled upon a moment of magic happening just out of reach.
The background is built with careful thread blending to create a smooth, painterly wash of colour, while the dragon and treeline are stitched in crisp detail for a striking silhouette effect. It’s a small piece, but it carries a lot of atmosphere - something serene, something mythic, something a little wild.
This artwork is a single, finished original. I have made and sold a couple of others, but each one is always different in it's own unique way - with different colours or silhouette shape, etc. It’s perfect for anyone who loves dragons, night skies, or those fleeting moments that feel like they belong to a story.
Additional Details
Aurora's Wing is framed in a faux wood embroidery hoop that measures 8.5cm (~3.5") tall and wide. With the hanging hardware the total height is around 10cm (~4"), though this can be unscrewed if not desired. It is intended to be kept in the hoop and hung up for display, preferably out of direct intense sunlight. Materials used include cotton fabric and, regular DMC stranded cotton threads and holographic threads.
Lovingly created in a pet-friendly home. Great care has been taken to keep the piece clean and free from stray fibres, but may not be suitable for those with severe or life-threatening sensitivities.
